will need |

|
A DOS bootable floppy or a Win 95 startup
floppy with CD-ROM drivers, OEM Window 95 CD-ROM, System Commander
floppy
|

Assumption |
| |
|
Multiple primary partitions on drive
0, An empty primary partition on drive 0, System Commander is installed.
|

Procedure |
| |
|
| |
|
| |
To
access the empty partition on drive 0, you will need to boot
into the partition where System Commander is installed. Change
to the System Commander subdirectory (the default is C:\SC)
and run SCDISK. |

From
the SCDISK Utility menu choose Change Boot Status for OS Install.
From the Boot Control Menu enter the number of the partition
in which you want to install Windows 95. |

Once
the partition reads boot status "yes" press ESC once, then press
ENTER for OK, then press ESC again. You should now be back at
the DOS prompt. Immediately boot from the DOS bootable disk
or Windows 95 startup disk. Do not boot back to the System
Commander menu or you will lose your settings. |

After
booting from floppy return to the A: prompt, then change to
the C: prompt and execute the DIR command. You are looking for
a command.com only to verify that you are in the empty partition.
If you are in the empty partition run the install for Windows
95. If you are not in the empty partition stop the installation
and contact technical support. |

After installing Windows 95, System Commander will no longer
appear. In order to reinstall System Commander you will need
to return to the original partition in which System Commander
was installed. To do this, boot from a DOS bootable floppy or
a Windows 95 startup disk. When you are at the A: prompt, take
out the bootable floppy and replace it with the System Commander
floppy. At the A: prompt type the following command: SCDISK

When
you get the SCDISK Utility menu choose Change Boot Status for
OS Install. At the Boot Status Control Menu enter the number
of the partition where System Commander was originally installed.
After verifying that the original partition reads Boot Status
"yes" press ESC once, then press ENTER for OK, then press ESC
again. You should now be back at the DOS prompt. Immediately
boot from DOS bootable floppy or Win 95 startup disk. |

After
booting, when you return to the A: prompt, change to the System
Commander subdirectory that resides on your hard drive (default
C:\SC). Run the following command: SCIN |

From
the SCIN menu choose Reinstall\Update System Commander. Once
complete reboot your computer and save the new OS. |
