SAN
JOSE, CA, October 1, 2002 -- V Communications, a leading developer
and publisher of advanced software utilities, today announced the
purchase of several award-winning PC utility products from Kroll
Ontrack Inc., a provider of data recovery and electronic discovery
services and wholly-owned subsidiary of Kroll Inc. (NASDAQ: KROL),
the global risk consulting company. The products include SystemSuite™,
Fix-It Utilities™, PowerDesk® Pro™, ZipMagic®,
Internet Cleanup™ and EasyUninstall™, all of which will
become wholly-owned, marketed and distributed by V Communications
effective October 1, 2002. The products will be released under the
V Communications label and will be available along with VCOM's popular
System Commander®, CD Anywhere®, and Partition Commander®,
software utility lines. The purchase of these products enhances
V Communication's position in the mass consumer utilities area.

brand name awareness, continues to increase our identity in the
