LAS
VEGAS, NVCOMDEX 97 Booth, Sands C9116, November 17, 1997 - For
the first time ever, the installation of a new operating system is
safe, easy and completely risk free. VCOM today announced production
availability of System Commander Deluxe, the latest version of the
best selling System Commander line of utility software. System Commander
Deluxe allows the installation of and combination of operating systems
on a single PC. It automatically protects a system's current operating
system while preparing the hard disk for the new operating system
installation. |
| |
|
|
| |
|
The
intelligent System Commander Deluxe OS Wizar(tm) takes all the complexity
* and risk * out of installing a new operating system. The Wizard
automatically analyzes the user's system to determine the best hard
drive configuration for both the new and existing operating system.
It then guides the user through a simple step by step installation
process. The OS Wizard even modifies hard disk partitions "on the
fly" when needed. |
| |
|
|
| |
|
With
System Commander Deluxe, users can upgrade from Windows 3.1 to Windows
95/98, Windows NT, or any other PC operating system without concern.
The old operating system is retained - without change - for immediate
use if needed. |

"System
Commander Deluxe guarantees that users will get their work done even
if their new operating system doesn't work properly," commented Jeff
Hyman, product manager at VCOM. "It makes sure that all applications
and data are safe even if there are configuration nightmares, incompatibilities,
or other kinks with the new operating system. System Commander's abilities
are unmatched in the marketplace due to its multi-functionality and
ease-of-use." |
| |
|
|
| |
|
System
Commander Deluxe allows users to install any combination of operating
systems on a single PC, including Windows 95, Windows 3.x, Windows
NT, DOS, OS/2, SCO Unix, Solaris, Linux, or any other operating system
(in beta or final release form), that runs on Intel-based systems.
System Commander Deluxe permits users to keep their existing (and
reliable) OS while they work the kinks out of the new operating system.
This assures them of being able to get their work done no matter what
happens. |
| |
|
|
| |
|
System
Commander Deluxe lets computer users take advantage of the features
of the latest operating system while keeping their old operating system
available. The OS Wizard will determine whether additional partitions
are required and, if so, it creates the new partition without the
risk of losing existing information. The OS Wizard also checks the
system to ensure that there is enough disk space and that the system
is capable of running the new operating system. |
| |
|
|
| |
|
System
Commander Deluxe protects the original operating system from "predatory"
operating system installers that try to destroy existing operating
system files. No drivers or resident memory are used, eliminating
conflicts with any operating system. And, should the user ever need
to remove it, System Commander Deluxe comes with its own uninstaller.
System Commander Deluxe also provides many other useful features including
a boot-time editor, an automatic selection timer, and multi-user password
security. |
