System
Commander Special Edition for Windows 98 - Upgrade Phobia Solved |
| |

|
SAN
JOSE, CA - May 14, 1998 - VCOM announced today System Commander
Special Edition for Windows 98 (SC98), a new edition of its award-winning
System Commander product line that was designed specifically to allow
Windows 95 and Windows 3.1 users to quickly and easily migrate to
the new Windows 98 operating system (OS). |
| |
|
|
| |
|
Using
their proven technology in SC98, users can keep working on important
projects, because their current Windows 95 or 3.1 applications and
data are safely retained and preserved exactly how they were prior
to the Windows 98 installation. Windows 98 will replace Windows 95
and Windows 3.1, and won't let users return to their previous version
of Windows without using a complicated and time consuming uninstall
feature. SC98 solves this problem by allowing users to have both Windows
98 and their familiar Windows 95 or 3.1 operating system. |
| |
|
|
| |
|
SC98
installs automatically, making copies of key files and other important
information. Once the installation of SC98 is complete, the user is
then presented with their current OS on the SC98 boot menu. They are
then prompted to install Windows 98 via the exclusive SC98 Installation
Wizard. To access Windows 98, PC users merely select it from the SC98
menu at boot time. Switching back to Windows 95 or 3.1 is as simple
as rebooting and choosing the desired OS from the SC98 menu. " |
| |
|
|
| |
|
"Unlike
drivers and TSRs, SC98 uses no resident memory, so it won't conflict
with operating systems or applications. And SC98 does all of this
without needing to partition of the hard drive. SC98 ensures all previous
Windows 95/3.1 settings remain the same for Windows 98. SC98 uses
the award winning technology found in System Commander, which has
been in the marketplace since 1993. |
| |
|
|
| |
|
"With
SC98, you can continue to get your work done in Windows 95 or 3.1,
while you work out the kinks with Windows 98," said Mike Mazzei, VP
of Marketing and Sales for VCOM. "This makes the upgrade process entirely
risk free, since you can make the transition to Windows 98 at whatever
pace you feel most comfortable." |
| |
|
|
| |
|
Current
owners of VCOM' System Commander or System Commander Deluxe do not
need SC98 as they already have all the benefits of SC98 and more.
