What is the difference in platforms?

The platform specifies what OS is required to install System Commander. No matter which way you purchase and install System Commander, it supports the booting and selection of all OSes, including non-Windows OSes, such as Linux, Solaris, NetWare, etc.

All - Physical CD
The System Commander 8 CD can be installed from Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP/2003 or Longhorn with any Windows file system (FAT, FAT32 or NTFS). It can also be installed from DOS, or using a Windows/DOS boot CD/diskette on a system with other OSes that has a FAT/FAT32 or NTFS primary partition.

Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP/2003/Longhorn Electronic Download
You can install this electronic download from any Windows 95 or later, including Longhorn. The only difference between this and the DOS download is this is "packaged" as an executable file for quicker and easily installation when using Windows. Th System Commander console is specific to Windows, but a DOS based console (SCIN) is also availabe.
Once installed, it has identical functionality as the physical CD and DOS platform installs.

DOS Electronic Download
This supports the installation from DOS (or Windows). It is a zip file of the installation program. You must be able to unzip the file. Once unzipped, you can use the setup program to install System Commander from DOS or Windows. Once installed, it has the identical functionallity as the physical CD and Windows platform installs.
